Nix’s Top 3 junior dog food

So far we have been describing the different food properties and their strong and weak points in regards to dog nutrition. However, there is an important aspect that we want to focus, what Nix likes the most. This article focuses on what Nix’s favourite food based on her own criteria.

Testing Method

In order to do a proper testing, we let Nix choose between two food types at a time. We achieved this by offering her two types of kibble simultaneously in the same bowl. When eating, she will finish the food she likes the most first (usually before even starting the other) and then she will start eating the other one.

By showing her several combinations, we have managed to know which ones she likes the most and which ones she likes the least.

The Top 3

#1 Brit care Grain-free Junior large breed salmon & Potato

Nix’s Rank

Favourite #1

Main ingredients
Salmon, Potato
Secondary ingredients
  Apple, Chicken, Shrimp
Pros
Reduced scratching, Single protein (mostly)
Cons
Soft Poops
Origin
  Czech Republic

This is Nix’s favourite food. It has been favoured by her against all others without any shade of doubt. It can either be because it is fish-based or because the kibble has a bigger size, but she clearly favours it.

#2 Maxima Grain Free

Nix’s Rank

Favourite #2

Main ingredients
Chicken, Turkey
Secondary ingredients
  Apple, Citrus, Fish
Pros
Detailed Nutritious Information, Grain Free
Cons
Diarrhoea, Scratching
Origin
  Spain

Her second option was Maxima, which is chicken and turkey-based. Maybe it is due to the lack of fish or maybe it is because the kibble size is smaller, in either case, she showed us that this one was her second best option.

#3 Gosbi Exclusive Puppy Maxi

Nix’s Rank

Favourite #3

Main ingredients
  Chicken, Rice
Secondary ingredients
  Apple, Lamb, Fish
Pros
Excellent Poop
Cons

The last entry in this Top 3 is Gosbi. It is similar in contents to Maxima, but the presence of grain in it potentially was what made this food the third one in this list.
